Take a Step Forward – Samuel Dhinakaran

My dear friend, it’s a joy to greet you with the Lord’s promise taken from I Samuel 2:9 which says, “He [God] will guard the feet of His faithful servants.” Accordingly, the Lord watches over you so keenly and closely! You shall not be shaken. So be of good cheer!

\Many of us are so afraid to take up something new and challenging like a new work or a project thinking that we might mess it up or we might get fired by our superiors. Due to this fear, we don’t even take it up. Yes, we are afraid to go forward. We are afraid to face an interview because we think we are going to be rejected. Talking about fear, let me share an incident from the Bible. In II Chronicles 20, the Moabites and Ammonites declare war against King Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah. Both these races were so terrifying because they were so vast and mighty. But when the people of Judah were frightened by Moab and Ammon, they cried out to the Lord saying, “We are going to be destroyed! Lord save us!” The Lord told the people to go forward. King Jehoshaphat whom God had appointed as king, said to the people of Judah, “Obey the Lord and go forward.” Hence, trusting the Lord, the people of Judah marched forward towards the spot to fight the Moabites and Ammonites. But when they reached the spot, they saw only the dead bodies of the soldiers of Moab and Amon. God had already fought their battle by creating great confusion between them and they fought each other. Thus, the vast army perished by the mighty hand of the Lord. What a great God we serve, dear friend!  

Today, are you afraid to take a step forward? God says to you, “Go forward! Am I not with you? I will take care of you.” When you trust the Lord and obey His word and proceed forward, you will be successful. For the Lord will fight the battle for you. My friend, go forward bravely knowing that the Lord has gone before you to make your path straight. He will guard your feet. So, take a bold step forward, my friend! 

PRAYER: Loving Lord, thank You for speaking to me through Your Word. Thank You for strengthening me from within. I take confidence in You, Lord. I am not going to be afraid of anything, anymore. You are in me and You are greater than anyone in this world. Nothing is impossible for You. You hold my life in Your hands. Lord, I pray that You will drive out every fear and anxious thought from my mind. Let great peace and confidence rise up within my heart. Lord, let Your mighty presence go before me and make my path straight. Lord, thank You for fighting my battles and granting me victory in every situation. I am more than a conqueror.
