Reaping Joy – Dr. Paul Dhinakaran
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. (1 Peter5:6)
God says there is a time for everything (Ecclesiastes 3:1). He allows us to go through tough times to lift us and honour us in the days ahead. God has plans to prosper us and not harm us (Jeremiah 29:11). Our present situations do not determine the future. God designs the present with the future in His mind. His future for plans for us are glorious. If we know what God’s plans for us we would not mourn rather wait for His redemption. Sorrows are never meant to be an end. They might be the beginning or a part of our journey allowed to prepare us for the destiny God has for us.
When my grand mother was pregnant, my grand father ran away and joined in Military without any intimation. She was left alone and she gave a birth to her child with great sorrow and that child was my father DGS Dhinakaran. He was affected in polio at his birth and she was so much worried for him. My father was born with sorrow and brought up with sorrow. When he lost his daughter angel who was born in Erode CSI Mission hospital, he was totally filled with sorrow. At his last days, he was filled with great sorrow because of the debt of Jesus calls & Karunya university. He left with the burden of leaving the debt to his son even though, God heard all his prayer and comforted the people through him. After his death, the Tamilnadu government kept his name for Green ways Road and God helped us to open Dr. DGS Memorial Prayer Tower in the city of Chennai and make the whole world to know about his name.
God wants us to respond to sorrows with humility. We just need to humble ourselves under His Hand that controls our situation. Being humble is trusting Him to work all things for our good (Romans 8:28). When we remain humble in our pain, God will use it to bestow His glory on us. He is well experienced in turning tragedies into triumphs. Even today, you may be born with sorrow but God is going to hear your prayers & He is going to honor you in the midst of your brothers and make your name to be exalted in the nation. Nothing is too hard for Him (Jeremiah 32:17). God will make you reap joy for every tear you have cried (Psalm 126:5).
Prayer:
Our Loving Father in Heaven,
I belive in Your Faithfulness to bless me doubly for all the sorrows I have faced. I know you are the God who turns all things for good and You will very soon bring good out of the bad I have gone through. Help me to trust You at all times. Give me grace to be confident that I will see Your goodness in the land of the living as in Psalm 27:!3. May Your Name be exalted through my life.
I ask this in the Name of Jesus,
Amen
