A Hiding Place In Your Troubles – Sis. Stella Dhinakaran
“You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.” (Psalm 142:5)
My dear friend, God’s promise to you is from Psalm 142:5, “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.” Yes, God Almighty is your refuge and your portion. If you read Joel 3:16 it says, “But the LORD will be a refuge for his people, a stronghold for the people of Israel.” We have to become His people. You should call Him, “Abba, Father.” If you are having a close relationship with the Lord, then you will have this blessing.
If you read Psalm 59:9,16,17, you will find that Saul tried to kill David. But David was looking up to God Almighty. “I will keep watch for You, O my strength, because You, O God, are my fortress. But I will sing of Your strength and proclaim Your loving devotion in the morning. For You are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble. To You, O my strength, I sing praises, for You, O God, are my fortress, my God of loving devotion.” He cried saying, “Lord, You are my hope. You are my refuge.” He was clinging on to God Almighty only. My friend, you have to do the same thing. Cling on to God. Always consider God to be your hiding place. He is your refuge.
In Psalm 90:1, even Moses says the same thing. He says, “Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations.” Psalm 37:39 says, “The salvation of the righteous comes from the LORD; he is their stronghold in time of trouble.” Yes, He will be with you at all times. Mary the sister of Martha found Jesus Christ as her portion. Jesus said that she has chosen the good part. You and I have to do the same thing. Today, you can make Him your good part and keep Him as your refuge at all times.
Prayer:
Loving Father,
Thank You for You are my refuge. Help me choose the good part like Mary and be close to You Lord Jesus. Touch my heart and give me grace to look up to You my refuge all the time.
In Jesus’ precious name, I pray.
Amen.
