God’s Will Is Perfect – Sis. Stella Dhinakaran
“Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” (Ephesians 5:17)In Romans 12:2, we read as, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Knowing and doing the will of God is the only place to find abundant life, peace, love, joy and wisdom. In the Old Testament of the Bible, we read about Jonah, a godly man who was a prophet and a servant of God. God spoke to him and gave him a command. But when he rejected it and chose his own path, he was forced to undergo many troubles. Soon he realised that the cause for his tribulations was his disobedience in not fulfilling the will of God in his life. Later, by the mercy of God, he returned to God’s path.
There was a young man who surrendered his life to the Lord and walked in God’s righteous ways. His parents fasted and prayed for him and chose a lovely and god-fearing girl to be his life-partner and informed him about this. But he told them that he loved another girl and only she would be suitable for him. As he was firm in his decision, his parents agreed. The marriage was solemnised and they lived happily for about a month. Thereafter, the girl did not want to join her husband in his ministry and wanted to go on her own way. She told him, “Leave me alone to go in my way and you do as you like.” Her words and actions completely disappointed him. She also got a divorce from him and married another man whom she loved and this made the young man feel very distressed. He turned to the Lord. The Lord in His mercy set right his path by enabling him to marry the same girl whom his parents chose earlier and live happily in the Lord.Today, watch out for whether all your decisions are in accordance to the will of God. Word of God warns as, “Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is” (Ephesians 5:17). Depend on the Lord for, “The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him” (Psalm 37:23). Just ask God to fill your heart with His desires. He will fill you and perfect everything concerning you. Be watchful in prayer, fulfilling the will of God in your life and be abundantly blessed. Even if you have taken wrong steps, come back to Him. He is a loving Father waiting to embrace you and lift you to greater heights.
