Refuge Under God’s Wings – Shilpa Dhinakaran

‘You have been a refuge for the poor,a refuge for the needy in their distress,a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat. For the breath of the ruthless is like a storm driving against a wall.’ Isaiah 25:4
Hello Friend! Today’s verse is taken from Isaiah 25:4. It says,‘You have been a refuge for the poor,a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat.’ Yes, the Lord promises to protect you and be a shelter for you. The Bible says in Psalm 91:4, ‘He will cover you with His feathers and under His wings, you will find refuge. Yes, you are present under the wings of the Almighty. What a blessing it is!

There is a story of two little children who were walking along the train track. One was an elder sister and the other a younger brother. Suddenly a train came and was crossing the track. The little boy was so frightened. He said to his elder sister, “Sister, what do I do? I am so scared.” But the elder sister encouraged him saying, “Just hold on to the rock that is present there. Hold on to it tight. Don’t worry the train will passby soon.” And the little boy did as his sister told him to do. He held on to the rock and the train moved away fast.
Likewise, let us also remember to hold on to the solid rock which is our Christ. Let us cling to the Lord every day. Today, if you are feeling lonely, tell the Lord about your feelings. Invite the Lord into your life saying, “Lord, I want You in my life every second”. And never let go of Him. Every time you go out as a family or when you go to work or to college, ask the Lord to be with you. It can be just a small prayer but when you utter this prayer, you will definitely feel the presence of God.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus,
I pray for Your divine protection over my life. I know Lord that You will never cast away the one who comes to you. Lord Jesus, I want You in my life every day. Help me to cling on to You, the solid rock and experience faith in You. Lord, preserve my going out and coming in. Let me feel Your presence all the time. May Your protective Hand be always upon me.
In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen
