God Is Your Helper – Sis. Stella Dhinakaran

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1)
My precious friend, I greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. God’s word for today is from Psalm 46:1, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” Friend, are you going through struggles and problems and are you shedding tears? Remember this verse in your heart and God will help you come out of all your problems.

Isaiah 25:4 says, “You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in their distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat.” Jeremiah 16:19 also says, “LORD, my strength and my fortress, my refuge in time of distress.” According to this verse we can also cry out to God when we are under struggles and in distress.  In Psalm 59:16 David says, “But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble.”
David went through lots of problems in his life. The worst of which was when Saul wanted to destroy him. He wanted to kill David. In 1 Samuel 30, we read about the problem David faced because of Saul’s jealousy. David had no place to stay. He had a group of people along with him and he did not know how to lead them. At that time, there was a king called Achish who was Philistine king and he was pleased with David so he gave him a place to stay which was called Ziklag. David and his people who were in Ziklag faced losses because of the Amalekites. Yet, at that time Bible records in 1 Samuel 30:6 that David strengthened himself in the Lord. S0 in 1 Samuel 30:19 we see that he got back all that he and his people lost. They got back all the blessings. In the same way, you too will receive all the blessings as you cling on to God and find strength in Him.
