The Miracle of Multiplication – Sis. Evangeline Paul Dhinakaran

My dear friend, today we will meditate on Leviticus 26:9, where the Lord promises, “I will turn to you and make you fruitful and multiply you, and I will confirm My covenant with you.” In this verse, God promises to do many things for us. Firstly, He promises to turn towards us. Then, He promises to make us fruitful and multiply us. These blessings are a part of His covenant with us and provide us with real strength. This covenant is a blessing that was bestowed upon the nation of Israel.

Even today, the Jews in Israel are experiencing great blessings from the Lord. He has multiplied them, and they have filled the whole earth, being fruitful in every way. And just as He did for them, He will also bless you, my dear friend, because of His Abrahamic covenant. We see evidence of this in II Kings 13:23 when the Lord took Abraham outside and asked him to count the stars in the sky. The Lord promised Abraham that his offspring would be as numerous as the stars in the sky. Today, there are billions and billions of stars, and researchers estimate that there are more than 100 billion stars in the universe. The Lord promises to bless us in the same way, and His blessings are too numerous to count. When the Lord blessed Abraham, He said, ‘I will make you very fruitful. I will make nations of you. And kings will come from you’ (Genesis 17:6). My dear friend, this same abundant blessing is also available to you.

Just one week ago, my family and I were reading the Bible together when I came across a verse that spoke deeply to me. In Deuteronomy 1:10, Moses tells the Israelites that the Lord has increased their numbers so much that they are as numerous as the stars in the sky. When Moses looked at the people from afar, he couldn’t even see their heads – they were that numerous. In verse 11, Moses blesses them with all his heart, asking the Lord to increase and bless them a thousand times as He has promised.

Today, the Lord continues to bless His people a thousand times over. God is a God of increase, as we see in Psalm 115:1-14 where He blesses the Israelites, saying, “May you and your children increase.” When God looks upon us, He truly blesses us beyond measure.

Dear friend, When we founded Karunya University, we had only a handful of students. Our campus was small and could be numbered. But today, as we look at our university, we are amazed at how God has blessed and multiplied us. This has happened because we have kept the word of God at the center of our campus. A literal word saying “Not by might, not by power, but by My spirit” is displayed in the center of our campus. This is why the Lord has given us an A++ grade and honoured us with the status of a deemed university. And many more blessings are yet to come. Similarly, the Lord has blessed our Jesus Calls ministry and Seesha organisation, which serve the poor. The Lord who was faithful in blessing us will also make you fruitful and multiply, just as He has promised you today.

PRAYER:

Dear Father, I pray that You remember the covenant that You made with Abraham. Please bless me and my household with the blessing of multiplication. Let everything that I put my hand to be blessed and increase abundantly. I ask that You make me fruitful and allow me to fill the earth with Your blessings. May kings be born from me, Lord. Please help me to walk with my head held high and provide for all my needs. I pray that I witness and experience Your blessings and increase in my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
