Heritage of glory – Sis. Evangeline Paul Dhinakaran

“To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” (Colossians 1:27)

Dear friend, may God bestow upon you the glory of Christ. Today’s promise is from Colossians 1:27, “To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” At the time of the birth of Jesus, the glory of God appeared before the shepherds. As in Luke 2:9, “An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them”, the glorious presence of God filled that place. The shepherds were so happy hearing the good news and they felt the presence of God that time. This is the heritage of God’s people which is to have God’s glorious presence with them.

In Ephesians 1:18 the Bible says, “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people.” The Lord has provided for His saints the treasure of the glory of God. Even today let us receive this glory from God. When we cry out to God for His presence as in 2 Corinthians 3:18, “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit,” the Lord will make us more and more like Him in His glory.

Yes, when we cry out to God to give us this heritage of God’s glory, the Lord gives us glory after glory and changes us into His image. Even now let us cry out to God to make us just like Him. As in Ephesians 2:6, “And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,” God will make us sit with Him in the heavenly realms like Christ Jesus. What a privilege it is for us to be in the presence of Christ! Today, the Lord is pleased to fill you with His glory. Stephen in the Bible was filled with such glory when he was speaking about Jesus before his death. The Bible says that His face shone like how Moses’s was in the olden times. God will make His glory shine upon you and through you in the same way. Seek His glory.
Prayer:
Loving Father,

Fill me with Your glorious presence. Change me more and more into Your image. Let my old nature pass away. Help me to overcome all temptations. Make my nature like that of Christ Jesus. Thank You for Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. Give me the heritage of Your glorious presence. Make me more holy. Remove all my weaknesses. Be glorified through me.

In Jesus’ precious name, I pray. Amen.
