Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season. (2 Timothy 4:2)
God’s loving command to humanity and in particular to those called by Him directs us to go out and preach the good news to the suffering (Matthew 28:19, 20). In the Bible we see a similar verse of today’s promise where prophet Isaiah says,  “The Lord God has given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary (Isaiah 50:4). Yes, it is God who gives the right word to preach and at the right time. Bible says, A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, and a word spoken in due season, how good it is!” (Proverbs 15:23).  How true is the verse “A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver” (Proverbs 25:11)!

George was a famous industrialist. In the initial years of his business, when his wealth started increasing, he forgot the love of his wife and children. At that time, a servant of God prayed and directed him to the path of God. The love of Jesus was poured into him. Many years later in a Rotary Club meeting, he happened to notice a man who was seated with a sense of despair. After the meeting when George met this person privately, the man told him, “Sir! My son has been arrested and thrown into prison for drinking and robbery. I neither have the mindset nor the money to take him out on bail. Without any further leading, I came here and sat in this meeting.” Immediately George replied saying, “I will bring your son out on bail and I will take care of him.” Later, George explained to the young man as to how the Lord Jesus had changed his life. Upon hearing this, the young man was moved to tears. As days passed by, he clung to the Lord and came out of his sinful life. Finally, he dedicated his life for the service of God.

Beloved, decide to be an answer for someone in need of your help.  Right words at the right time can cut right through a person and transfer a person from their darkness into the kingdom of light.  So be ready to preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season (2 Timothy 4:2).  This day, would you open your heart to sow the love of God in the hearts of other people?  When they prosper in life, you will also prosper and receive a 100-fold harvest.  Today, God says to you “Maybe you were made queen for just such a time as this” (Esther 4:14).  Use every opportunity to deliver God’s best to others.

Prayer:
“Loving Lord,

With Your loving gracious hands You have drawn me closer to You. Your love is abundant for me and gives me eternal joy. Let this joy remain in me forever. Let Your Holy Spirit help me to spread Your amazing love to others too.  Keep me in the right place to speak the right word that would build lives.  Help me to never shun a person in need.  Give me wisdom to communicate Your great love.

In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
