Blessed beyond comprehension
Blessed Beyond Comprehension
“You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country.” (Deuteronomy 28:3)
This chapter is an extensive exposition on two simple words: Blessing and Curse. The crux of the theme lies in the fact that a person is blessed if he/she is obedient and is cursed if he/she is disobedient. Jesus walked this earth to fulfill a divine plan of redemption. He bore our sins and curses and sacrificed Himself on the cross, to set us free from sin and curse. However, this free gift of ‘redemption’ should not be mistaken to sin over and over again, as Paul categorically writes “What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means!” (Romans 6:15).
Jesus underwent an unexplainable path of agony so that we live a blessed life. How can we live a holy life? By diligently obeying His statutes; by praying daily; by trusting Him, even if time is not on our side. It has been nearly sixty years since my father (late) Bro. D.G.S.Dhinakaran came to this city of Chennai. He went from one place to another in search of a job. For the many interviews he went to, the only response that he got was “There’s no work for you here, you can go.” But my father trusted the Lord and today we stand as witnesses for the blessings he received ‘in the city and the country.’ During his lifetime, he gave jobs to thousands and thousands of people. God has blessed and continues to bless the ministry, through which ‘tears are wiped away’ of the broken-hearted people.
SCRIPTURE to LIFE
God will bless you too. When you live a life of complete submission to the Lord, He will lift you higher in your personal and family life. You may have suffered rejections, losses and undergo a tough situation, but remember that Jesus is always there ‘for’ you. He will never reject you. When you draw close to Him, He will dwell with you happily. He will hear your cry and answer you by working wonders and miracles in your life. He will not only bless you but will make you a channel of blessing to others. Therefore, irrespective of who you are and what you’re going through; turn to Jesus, and He promises to set you free from all your problems and bless you abundantly. Gospel of Matthew 24:35 reads “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” Every promise of God will be fulfilled. Believe and receive it!
Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your unfailing promises. Grant me Your grace to be obedient to Your commandments. In all that I go through in life, help me never to waver in my faith. I believe that You are always with me. Bless me Lord, and make me a blessing to others.
In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen
