Your Mourning shall be turned into Dancing!
Dr. Stella Dhinakaran
“You make me glad by your deeds, Lord; I sing for joy at what your hands have done.” (Psalm 92:4)
In this world, we live happily and feel contented that we have everything we need in our life. All of a sudden, like a bolt out of the blue, a big storm blows in our life and it collapses like a pack of cards. We have seen this happening in the lives of many people and have heard their stories also. Yes! This is the life in this world. In the midst of all these storms and calamities, we have a Saviour who can change our sorrow and sighing into joy and gladness (Isaiah 35:10). The desire of our God is that His children should prosper in all things and be in health (3 John 2).
In 1969, we had completed ten years of our happy married life. God blessed us with two beautiful children and gave us a prosperous and successful life. Then came a sudden storm! My husband who was healthy till then became seriously ill and was in his deathbed. The doctors told me that my husband would live for a few more days only. My heart was broken to pieces! I ran to my room and knelt down. With tears flowing from my eyes, I prayed, “My Lord! God, we have been doing Your ministry with all our heart and strength. Now, how could You allow our family to be sunk in sorrow like this?” At once, He filled me with His Holy Spirit. He told me, “My daughter, don’t worry. Your husband will recover soon. The ministry you have done so far is nothing. Hereafter, I will use your husband mightily for the glory of My name”.
Yes! This is how the Holy Spirit works! That is why I always emphasize in all my messages, the need for the anointing of the Holy Spirit in one’s life. Then, a new hope and joy filled my heart. Days went by. After four months, one day I saw my husband kneeling down and praising God. Earlier, he could not even kneel to pray. My heart overflowed with joy! “You make me glad by your deeds, Lord; I sing for joy at what your hands have done.” (Psalm 92:4). I too began to praise God. As promised earlier, the Holy Spirit began to use my husband in His ministry in a greater and mightier way. Yes! The same Holy Spirit knows your tears and troubles. With His mighty power, He will change your life upside down. He will make you glad and help you triumph over all your problems. You will praise God just as David did! “You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness.” (Psalm 30:11). Have a blessed and joyful day.
Prayer:
Loving Lord, You are our mighty God. No man can change my tears and troubles. But, I believe that nothing is impossible with You. Today, give me the grace to see Your splendour and glory. In Jesus’ precious name I pray, AMEN.
