Do you love others? – Shilpa Dhinakaran
“God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God and God in him.” (1 John 4:16)
Hello friend, today’s promise verse is taken from 1 John 4:16. This verse says “God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God and God in him.” What a beautiful verse! Every time I read this verse, I get reminded of my school classroom. Our classroom always had “God is love” written on the blackboard. Yes, it is because God expects every one of us to be like Him to show His love to others. The Bible says in 1 John 4:20 “Whoever does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.”
Recently, I heard the testimony of a young mother who had given birth to a baby boy. She had no love in her family because she had lost her mother when she was very young and she had never felt true love. It was in this situation she came to meet Bro. D. G. S. Dhinakaran. However, she saw him from a distance and tried to go away, but Grandpa Dhinakaran called out to her saying ‘where are you running without showing me my grandson?’ and she went and showed her son to Grandpa. She felt very happy because she experienced what true love feels like for the first time. It did not stop there, and she also felt the love of Christ.
Similarly, when you show your love to others, they will feel the love of Christ and they will thank God for it. Yes, God has given us a very big responsibility. When you have experienced the love of God, it is your responsibility to make others experience God’s love. Yes friend, God wants you to show God’s love to others especially to those who do not like you. It is only when you show God’s love to them they will feel the love of Christ.
Prayer:
My loving Heavenly Father,
Thank You for today’s promise. Father, I thank You for Your unconditional love. Give me the grace to reflect Your love to others around me even to those who hate me. Let people experience Your true love through my actions.
In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
