Faith draws miracles – Sis. Stella Dhinakaran
This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. (1 John 5:4)
Dearly beloved, faith is essential to have a closer walk with God and to raise a God-centered family. If some blessing is delayed, do not fret or fume and do not be disheartened by the long-wait. Focus on the God of miracles, for nothing is impossible for Him. He will grant the desires of your heart. Choose to grow in faith and trust that God will give the best gift at the right time.
We read in Luke 1st chapter of the Bible that in the time of Herod, king of Judea there was a priest named Zechariah, who belonged to the priestly division of Abijah; his wife Elizabeth was also a descendant of Aaron. Both of them were righteous in the sight of God, observing all the Lord’s commands and decrees blamelessly. But they were childless because Elizabeth was barren and they were very old. They had been praying about this lack in their life. God heard their prayers and willed to bless them. At the mean time, there was another miracle! It happened for Mary to meet Elizabeth who had conceived John, the forerunner for the Son of God, Lord Jesus Christ. Mary was privileged to bring forth Jesus, the Saviour into this world. Yes, they both became pregnant by the power of God. When they both met each other, Elizabeth blessed Mary saying, “Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!”
Look at the faith of these two women. Elizabeth was very old. Yet, when God decided to bless her, she received the blessing with faith and fulfilled the purpose of God in her life. Likewise, Mary too fulfilled the purpose of God in her life by bearing Jesus in her womb. Similarly, you too fulfill the call of God in your life. As these two women were women of faith, they enjoyed the highest privileged blessings. They became the ‘blessed women’. If you too build your life with faith upon God, you will overcome your lacks and problems for the Scripture promises, “This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith” (1 John 5:4).
Prayer:
Dear Jesus,
while on earth, You fasted and prayed to the Father in heaven and fulfilled God’s purpose. Give me the grace to stand in faith and possess all that You have for me. Bless all the efforts I take towards progression for my future life. I surrender all my plans to You. May Your will be done in me and through me. Increase my faith on Your words. Remove every tint of disbelief from my being. Renew my mind and lead me to the blessed portion. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
