FREEDOM Sis. Evangeline Paul Dhinakaran
Jesus said, “Your sins are forgiven.” (Luke 7:48)
Jesus the Son of God loves you so much. He is ready to accept you as His own child. But is there something pulling you away from Him? All you need to do is to run to His embrace. Bible says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). Yes, forgiveness is a gift out of love from God that erases sin and all of its consequences. The psalmist says, “For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us” (Psalm 103:11,12). We further read, “I have swept away your offenses like a cloud, your sins like the morning mist. Return to me, for I have redeemed you.” (Isaiah 44:22). Be encouraged with this thought.
Once, Jesus was in the house of a Pharisee. At that time, a woman in that town who lived a sinful life came there with an alabaster jar of perfume. She began to wet the feet of Jesus with her tears and wiped them with her hair. She then kissed His feet and poured perfume on them. Jesus said to her right before the eyes of those judgmental Pharisees, “Your sins are forgiven” (Luke 7:48). The whole world teased her and mocked saying, “Why is this sinner coming into this home? Why is she disturbing Jesus? Why is she here?” Somehow, they all wanted to chase her. She was humiliated by their deriding talks and scornful looks. But, the love of Jesus embraced her with His irrevocable pardon.
How true is it that our God is “rich in mercy” (Ephesians 2:4). He graciously pardons everyone who come to Him. To enjoy true freedom, stop hiding your sins. Seek the Lord’s loving face and leave all your cares at the Cross. He will remove every sin from you so that it would never come again (Micah 7:19). He will build your life by performing signs and wonders.
Prayer:
Dear Father in Heaven,
Thank You for sending Your only Son Jesus Christ to die on the Cross for me. I believe in the blood of Jesus that cleanses me. I turn to You to be delivered from all of my sins. I am unable to come out of my pit. Lord, stretch out Your loving hands and lift me from this miry clay. Set my feet upon the rock. Let Your immeasurable mercy and favour be on me. From today, I am Yours and You are mine. Let Your purpose be fulfilled on this earth through me.
In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
