God of mercy – Samuel Dhinakaran
Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy (Proverbs 28:13)
We read in Luke 15 in the Bible about a son who demanded his property from his father. There is great probability that his friends could have infused bad advices saying, “You are a very potential person. You cannot progress if you continue staying with your father. Ask your property from your father as capital investment. Then you can live happily as you want.” The young man listened all those wicked counsels, took the property from his father, left to a distant country and squandered his wealth in wild living. After he had spent everything, he began to be in need. So he decided to work under a person of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs. He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.
What was his end? A disobedient mind will always pull a person into the most degraded pit. Bible mentions about it as, “When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: “Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.” So he got up and went to his father. He decided to obey his father’s words. The father who awaited all those days, clad his repented son with the best robe and put sandals in his feet and ring in his finger.
Beloved, in the presence of his father, he was honored and filled with great joy. Would you yearn to stay with the heavenly Father all the time? Love to stay in His presence. You will receive honor, joy and peace. Jesus loves you so much that He gave Himself on the Cross for your good living. He is not far from a broken and a contrite spirit. Pour out your weakness and sins at His feet. Seek His forgiveness. He will break all the chains that are binding you. You will be filled with a great peace for which He is the only source! The scripture says, “Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy” (Proverbs 28:13). God has a great plan for you. To know His heart for you, read the Bible and pray every day. He will keep His eyes on you and guide you in beautiful paths. Honor your parents’ words. Their advices will guard you from falling into ungodly ways. You will rise to greater heights.
Prayer:
Dear Lord,
I come with a repentant heart. I cannot deliver myself from the clutches of sin and bad habits. Deliver me. Fill my heart with your desires. I need Your word to light my path. I bless my parents for all the efforts they have invested in my life. Honor me and lift me to crush the head of the devil. Make me a winner.
In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
