May Peace Be Multiplied to You – Sis. Evangeline Paul Dhinakaran
Dear friend, today’s promise verse is from Daniel 4:1. It reads, “King Nebuchadnezzar to all peoples, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied to you!” In this verse, the king wishes all people to have peace in full measure.
This greeting was typical of Eastern culture. Even today in Israel, when people meet each other, they greet as “Shalom” or “Salaam”. In I Samuel 25:5 & 6, David sent ten young men. And David said to the young men, “Go up to Carmel, and go to Nabal and greet him in my name. And thus you shall greet him: ‘Peace be to you, and peace be to your house, and peace be to all that you have.“ This is the heart of the kings, as well as the King of kings, our Lord Jesus Christ. In Luke 10:5&6, our Lord Jesus also instructed His disciples thus: “Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace be to this house!’ And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest upon him. But if not, it will return to you.” Yes, peace is a priceless blessing in this world, and multitudes are yearning for it. They are running here and there to have peace. But our Lord Jesus promises in John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you.” Accordingly, the Lord wants to give His peace to everyone who seeks Him. He is the one who has perfect peace. Personally, I have seen Jesus Christ face to face. He is full of peace. When I saw His face, His eyes were full of peace. Oh, What a blessed moment that was!
Let me share with you an incredible testimony of Sis. Sania. She did not know about the Lord Jesus Christ. She was also looking for peace and was suffering from terrible back pain. One day, while watching one of our Jesus Calls TV programmes, my husband called out her name, “Sania!” and even mentioned the colour of her dress. Sania could hardly believe it! With so many Sanias out there, how could this man on TV know exactly what she was wearing? As she was saying this, she was instantly healed! And as she watched the life of another sister living nearby, she saw a peace in her face that she had never seen before. Sania knew she had to find out more about this God who brought such peace to this sister’s life. And that’s how she came to know Jesus. Today, both of them are serving in the Jesus Calls Prayer Tower, and Sania says, “I am content and peaceful today.”
My friend, may the Lord fill your heart with perfect peace. As mentioned in Psalm 122:7, “May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels.” I pray that this promise of God will be fulfilled in your life and that peace will be multiplied to you.
PRAYER:
Dear Lord, I pray for Your peace to enter into my life and remove any strife from me and my household. Please bring our hearts together and let Your perfect peace rule over our home. Thank You, Lord, for building my home into a beautiful palace filled with Your presence, peace and love. I believe that You have shattered the powers of darkness working against me and have restored my peace and happiness. I can now lie down and sleep in peace, for You alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
