Newness in Spirit Sis. Stella Dhinakaran
“And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” (Galatians 5:24)
In today’s world, sin abounds everywhere. The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life has taken control of people of all walks of life (1 John 2:16). However, God can change everything and give a new life in Christ to those who come seeking Him (1 Peter 2:9, 10). So, read the loving promises of God, delight in them and trust them. Then, you will have absolute victory over temptation, as your soul delights in God’s word and His presence. Today, draw nearer to Jesus.
In an office, the eyes of all the employees were on one particular person. The reason being, that he always concentrated on his work and never ever interfered in the lives of other people. He was very wise in the words he spoke and his nature made people to honour and respect him. One day, one employee went to him and asked him how it was possible for him to lead such a perfect life. Do you know what he said? He replied, “Alas! I shudder to think of my past life. I lived a horrible life. Whenever I got angry, I used to beat my wife and children. But one day, I heard the love of Jesus and came running to His Cross. I confessed all my sins and wrong doings. The same moment, Lord Jesus touched me and saved me. His blood cleansed me. My life was completely changed. Today I lead a new life in Christ.
Yes, if anyone is in Christ, he becomes a new creation. The old has gone and everything is brand new now (2 Corinthians 5:17). Do you want this newness in spirit? Get washed by the soul-cleansing blood of Jesus. As a child of God, having been washed by the blood of Jesus Christ, you can easily overcome every sin, sickness and addiction. Bible says, “And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires” (Galatians 5:24). Beloved, to crucify your flesh and its desires, stay at His feet and wait on Him. Plead for God’s grace and be elevated in faith. His Word is a double-edged sword that will work in you and for you and deliver you from all evil forces.
Prayer:
Dear Father,
I thank You for Your precious blood. I believe that only You can save me from sin and its consequences. Strengthen me to quit all the evil ways. Rather give me the desire to delight in Your Word. Make me a new person and lead me by Your Spirit. Let me yield myself to Your still small voice and your great love. Help me to grow from glory to glory.
In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
