Receiving Heavenly Wisdom!

“He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;He is a shield to those who walk uprightly.” (Proverbs 2:7)

It is a great blessing, when the Lord grants sound wisdom to the righteous. But, how do you become righteous? The Bible gives us the answer and it is, “God made Him (Jesus Christ) who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God” (2 Corinthians 5:21).

So, you are made righteous through Jesus Christ. When Jesus dwells in you, God will view you, as the righteous person. And this attribute will be reflected in all your ways; your speech, your conduct and your profession. As is mentioned in the scriptures, “He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;He is a shield to those who walk uprightly” (Proverbs 2:7). And the characteristics, of this heavenly wisdom are that it’s pure, peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere (James 3:17). You will receive it, when you are filled with the Holy Spirit.
Many years back, I visited a foreign country and my stay was arranged in a Theological college. All of a sudden, someone told me that somewhere, a revival meeting is happening. I followed the crowd and saw one professor singing, then a student singing and later on they were joined by others. They started to dance, and this went on for 3 hrs. The professor told me, that this is the revival meeting and it is very necessary for India. When someone, brings such strange doctrines, the world believes in this false wisdom. The Bible warns us to turn away from false wisdom, “Turn away from godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge” (1 Timothy 6:20).

On the contrary, I experienced the real presence of the Holy Spirit; which doesn’t happen randomly, but rather, when you spend time in prayer. I remember vividly, when I was working in the bank in Pondicherry, I used to attend a small ‘Pentecostal church’. The minute,the pastor started to pray, the whole congregation would be filled with the Holy Spirit and they would sing songs and it used to be so melodious. The secret to this; was the amount of time the pastor spent in prayer, before going to church. When the servant of God is anointed, then certainly the congregation too will be anointed.

My dearly beloved, when you are filled with the Holy Spirit, the Lord will grant you sound wisdom. And, this wisdom will instruct you and guide you, every day and in all your undertakings. The Lord Jesus, will grant you this heavenly wisdom,through the gift of the Word of wisdom. And, then will you be able to handle all the problems, you face in life. The Bible tells us, “Get wisdom, get understanding;do not forget my words or turn away from them.Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you;love her, and she will watch over you” (Proverbs 4:5,6). Today, ask for this great blessing from God and He will lavish it upon you.
