The Leading Light – Sis. Stella Dhinakaran
“And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night.” (Exodus 13:21)Once a man and his family walked from one village to another as there were no transport facilities in those days. On the way, they had to pass through a thick jungle. In the middle of the jungle, they discovered that they had lost their way. They did not know what to do. They were aware that wild animals would sometimes come that way. But the only blessing they had was that they as a family, loved and believed in the Lord Jesus. So, they knelt down, looked to the Lord and prayed fervently. At that time, they saw a man passing through that way to their great surprise. Though they had waited for a long time, they could not see anyone in the vicinity. But as this had happened soon after their prayer, they were delighted and exclaimed, “The Lord has sent His angel to go before us.” So, they spoke to him and found the right way to get out of the jungle. Thus they had received the miracle, being led by the Lord and reached their destination safely.
If you too seek the Lord in your life, He will go before you to lead you. He will never let you down. When you are sitting in the dark labyrinth of your life, remember what the Bible says, “For it is You who light my lamp; the Lord my God lightens my darkness” (Psalm 18:28). God will turn all darkness into light, the rough places into level ground. As God led the Israelites, He will guide you and guard you. “And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night” (Exodus 13:21). The presence of God will thwart every enemy from your life until you reach His assigned goal. Do not be disappointed by the whirlwinds of life. Say aloud with faith, “Rejoice not over me, O my enemy; when I fall, I shall rise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me” (Micah 7:8).
