The Power Of The Holy Spirit – Dr. Paul Dhinakaran
“But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as first fruits to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth.” (2 Thessalonians 2:13)
Dear friend, today’s promise is about the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit. 2 Thessalonians 2:13 says, “But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as first fruits to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth.” Yes, as you are a God’s child, the Holy Spirit of God has been working in you.
How much you should be thrilled to have God’s Spirit working in you to make you as God’s temple and to be the first fruits of God! What a great blessing! Look at your life and say, “Thank You Holy Spirit for working in me. Thank You for transforming me into the temple of the Holy Spirit.” As you thank Him every day nothing of the world will be able to come in. Firstly, God transforms and sanctifies us to perform every good work. 2 Timothy 2:21, “Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.” You are useful to the Master as You make yourself holy every day and good works are done by you.
Secondly, according to Acts 26:18, sanctification brings the power of God to destroy the works of the devil, “to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’”. It turns you from the power of satan to God. Thirdly, Joshua 3:5 says, “Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you.”” Yes, the Holy Spirit sanctifies you to perform wonderful things in your life.
Fourthly, Hebrew 2:11 says as you are sanctified by the Holy Spirit you become the brother and sister of Jesus Christ, “Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.” Fifthly, you also become like Jesus according to 2 Corinthians 3:18, “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” What a great blessing! Lastly, Hebrews 12:14 says, “Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.” The holiness in you makes you see God. May God give you these blessings and keep your soul sanctified by the Holy Spirit.
Prayer:
Loving Father,
Give me these blessings through the sanctification of Your Holy Spirit in me. Fill my heart with Your holiness through Your Holy Spirit.
In Jesus’ precious name, I pray. Amen.
