The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house. Haggai 2:9
The former house often characterised by dissatisfaction and unpleasantness (Haggai 1:3) is in our lives. Perhaps, you are going through a phase, which seems like everything is disorderly. Yet, as a child of God, you have the assurance that your latter situation will always be greater in glory than the former. How can you be certain about it? “It is because Bible affirms “Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass” (1Thessalonians 5:24).
Some people love to go to ‘garage sales. Most of the things they find will be ‘junk.’ Those articles would be already on its way to the trash heap, but the owners set them out for others to sort through in hopes of making a little money from that trash. When this so called ‘garbage renovators’ negotiate a price with the owner and take it home, they convert it into something of value. Some become brand new. The condemned items now become very attractive and creative pieces. All those items needed was for someone to see the glory in them.
Jesus did the same for you when He purchased you with His blood. He sees the value in your worn out, damaged lives. It’s because He has chosen you, purchased you with His blood, so that He can restore and transform you into something of infinite worth. Almighty God your Restorer would adorn you as the best glorious person! Be of good cheer. Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof. The glory of the latter house is described in 1 Corinthians 2:9, which says “eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” Just be diligent, patient and continue to stand on your faith and embrace this glory! Say confidently in your hopeless and helpless situations following the verse, “ For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory”(2Cor.4:17).
Prayer:
Dear heavenly Father, I know that I’m cleansed by the precious blood of Jesus Christ, which was shed on the cross of Calvary. I believe that by Your infinite skill, I can find my worth in You. Transform my life. Make my life into a grand and beautiful article that displays Your glory. Grant me patience to hold on to Your promises. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
