There’s something kept for your protection – Samuel Dhinakaran
“The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.” (Isaiah 58:8)
My dear friend, it is such a joy to share the Word of God. Today, you are going to taste it in your life. The Bible says in Isaiah 58:8 “The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.” Glory is something that you cannot see with your own eyes but see it in someone’s life. When someone achieves something amazing, we see the person’s glory. We cannot see glory with physical eyes; but through a vision, the Lord graciously showed my grandfather the throne of God. It was surrounded by the tangible glory of God. It was amazing and to be feared. God says such a glory will be your rear guard.
What does it mean for God’s glory to be your rear guard? Two chapters later in Isaiah 60:1, the Bible says “The glory of the Lord has risen upon you.” When does the glory of God rise? Isaiah 60:2 says it is when “Darkness covers the earth and thick darkness the peoples.” In times like this COVID situation where there is darkness in people’s lives or in times when you are surrounded by troubles in your own life, God says ‘in the midst of it My glory will rise upon you and it will be your rear guard.’
Yes friend, glorious acts will happen in your life even in darkness, trouble, or worse situation because God’s glory is upon you. Glorious acts will follow in your life. Evil people will see it and be afraid to touch you. No man will do you harm. Darkness will not overcome you. Truly, God’s glory will be the rear guard in your life. It will be your protection. This blessing is given when you fulfill everything God likes. If you read the verses former to Isaiah 58:8, God gives this promise to those who do what God likes and what He wills.
Prayer:
My loving Heavenly Father,
Thank You for today’s promise. Father, help me to do what You want and will. Let Your glory surround me and protect me. Help me to fulfill Your will in my life and bring honor to Your name.
In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
