WAITING FOR THE LORD Dr. Paul Dhinakaran
I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and He turned to me and heard my cry. (Psalm 40:1)
Are you burdened waiting for a long period expecting some miracle to happen? Are you troubled in your heart unable to see an end to your problem? The Bible says, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted” (Matthew 5:4). All your tears are in God’s presence. He has not forgotten you. Do not lose hope. Your sorrows will end. God has seen your anguish. He will lift you to reach the shore of peace with His gracious hands. Are you praying, “I am weary with my mourning; every night I flood my bed with tears; I drench my couch with my weeping?” Read on to see the answered prayer of a sister who did not give up until she saw the desired change.
“I am Ms. Rajkumari from Pratapgarh.I got married at 1991. After 2-3 years, problems started appearing. My husband was an alcoholic. But I am a person who is very scared of drunkards. I raised my 3 children in utmost difficulties. We both were unemployed. My mother-in-law used to take care of us. I was depressed as to how I am going to raise these three children on my own. My husband used to torture us. My family members used to advice me to leave my husband and come back to my parents but I never listened to anyone. Often I called the Jesus Calls Prayer Tower and received prayers. My sister Siromoni wrote a letter to Dr. Paul Dhinakaran regarding this matter and he prayed for us. God answered that prayer. Now we are happy and I would like to thank Dr Paul Dhinakaran for his prayer. It has been 5 years since my husband has left his drinking habit.Glory to God.”
Beloved, your joyful days are approaching closer when you too will sing, “I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and He turned to me and heard my cry” (Psalm 40:1).Let not your present struggles occupy your mind. Fill your heart and mind with God’s promises. Hold on to Jesus and stay in His presence. He will never leave you nor forsake you. Abundant joy and peace will become your portion. Your head will be exalted above all your oppressions and your feet will stand on the victor’s stand. Be encouraged by the verse “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint” (Isaiah 40:31).
Prayer:
Dear Father,
I do not have words to express my reproach. I take refuge in You. Protect me and fill me with wisdom to overcome this tribulation. Fill me with hope. Let Your mighty hand lift me from this miry clay. Your Word says, “Those who seek You shall find You.” At this heart-wrenching hour I need You more closer than ever. Help me to find peace in Your embrace until the bad days pass over me. Bring me into territories of joy and peace. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
